故事發(fā)生在1971年的法國，黛芬妮（伊茲?涿山海林 Iz?a Higelin 飾）是農(nóng)場(chǎng)主的女兒，因?yàn)椴辉富羯浇邮芨改柑?己安排的未來，倔強(qiáng)要強(qiáng)黛芬妮選擇離家出走，孤一人來到繁華的大都市晏龍，想要在這里開拓屬于自的天地。在巴黎，黛芬妮逅了致力于女權(quán)運(yùn)動(dòng)的斗卡羅爾（西西·迪·法蘭 Cécile De France 飾），隨著時(shí)間的推移，兩人打破鮮山性的界限，走到了一起。 父親中風(fēng)的消息傳來，黛芬不得不告別卡羅爾，回到鄉(xiāng)，無法忍受思念之苦的羅爾千里迢迢來到了農(nóng)莊想要在這里和黛芬妮開始們?nèi)粘龆魅章涠⒌奶?生活?？墒牵瑑扇颂厥獾?系很快就遭到了周遭的非，亦使黛芬妮陷入了兩難抉擇之中?
Eighty people from totally diverse backgrounds suddenly find themselves in an undisclosed location where they are expected to compete in a race with simple rules, "If you are lapped twice, you die. If you step off the path, you die. Race… or die." Many will start but only one may cross the finish line alive. Eighty individuals are chosen by an anonymous being, who instantly disappears from where they were to appear on a path, prepared for the race. Each person hears the same message in their own language, with their own voice, and instantly needs to race and survive. People of different sexes, different ethnic backgrounds, and different physical capacities are thrown in. Will it be survival of the fittest or a show of humanity?
